THE Koala Action Group is inviting locals to go on a koala spotting walk at Wellington Point on Saturday from 1.30pm.
A KAG spokesperson said the group hoped to spot koalas Kimo and Gumnut that were being GPS tracked by Sunshine Coast University researchers as part of the Ormiston Neighbourhood Conservation Project.
The walk will take place on a property on Bligh Street that was recently bought by Redland City Council.
"The 4.55 hectare property is a highly sensitive environmental area containing about 80 per cent endangered regional ecosystem and home to koalas and many other species of wildlife including migratory birds," the spokesperson said.

The property is alongside Hilliards Creek and forms part of a major wildlife corridor that adjoins the Geoff Skinner Wetlands which is also owned by council."
Attendees are advised to wear long-sleeved pants and shirts due to increased numbers of biting insects in the area. Insect repellent will be available.
Afternoon tea will be provided after the walk.
The event is family-friendly and suitable for all ages.
