REDLANDS schools were well represented at the FISAF Australia National Championships earlier this month.
Ormiston College, Star of the Sea Catholic Primary, St Luke's, Alexandra Hills State High School, Bay View State School and St Mary MacKillop Primary joined 34 other schools from around Australia for the national event held at Chandler's Sleeman Centre.
A further two teams from Thornlands State School and Cleveland State School are expected to join the Redlands contingent at the next event having recently launched FISAF aerobics programs for their students.
About 1500 school and club athletes from around Australia participated in the four day event, which was also attended by more than 4000 spectators.
Local sport aerobics club Industrie 1 had two individuals and a trio selected in the Australian world championship team following a successful few days at the Brisbane based event.
The athletes - Zoe Magree, Isabella van Wijk, Ellah Skinner and Baylee Caruso - will compete against 29 other countries in the Netherlands during October.
The next competition for local student and club athletes, the FISAF Australia Future Champions Cup, will be held at Ormiston College on September 14.
Cleveland State School and Thornlands State School will fly the Redlands flag at this event.
