POLICE are searching for a man who fled after crashing a car into a tree at Victoria Point on Sunday night.
The man, understood to be about 30, appeared to have sustained only minor injuries in the incident on Poinciana Avenue about 10pm.
Nearby residents rushed to help the man who broke a window to get out of the car.
He was the only person in the vehicle.
Police said they found marijuana and a significant amount of ice and cash in a bag that the driver left at the scene.
Parts of the car that came off in the impact were strewn across the road, nature strip and into a neighbouring property.
Police dogs were used to help with the search but police said on Monday morning they had been unable to locate him.

Meanwhile, a woman in her 60s was taken to hospital with a chest injury after a crash at Redland Bay on Friday at 11.47pm.
A Queensland Ambulance Service spokesperson said a vehicle had crashed into a parked vehicle on Muller Street.
The woman was taken to Princess Alexandra Hospital.
