FIRE fighters have warned that the situation with the Lamington National Park fire could worsen quickly.
The fire which has been burning for more than a week in rugged country is travelling towards Sarabah and people should be prepared to take action.
Residents need to be ready to follow their bushfire survival plan.
As at 11.40am a large bushfire is travelling in a north-westerly direction from Pyramid Creek in Lamington National Park towards Lamington National Park Road, Sarabah.
The fire is likely to impact Lamington National Park Road, north of Kamarun Lookout Road and Sarabah Road.
Fire crews are working to contain the fire but might not be able to protect every property.
Residents leaving the area should head north along Lamington National Park Road to Moriarty Park, Coburg Road, Canungra.
The fire is close to Lamington National Park Road and may impact Cainable. firefighters are working in the area to contain the blaze. Motorists are advised to drive to conditions.
