COURSES start next month in the Redlands for people wanting to become a JP or Commissioner for Declarations.
Commissioners exercise some of the functions of justices.

Queensland Justices Association trainer Ray Burrows said the Redlands branch of the association would hold courses for people interested in becoming JPs or commissioners on Saturday, November 2.
Training was required before applying for appointment with the Justice Department.
Mr Burrows said applicants had to be an Australian citizen, at least 18, of good character and be on the State Electoral roll.
They must also not be disqualified from appointment as per requirements at qja.com.au/disqualification-provisions/
The QJA represents JPs and commissioners.
The venue will be the Capalaba State College, senior campus, School Road, Capalaba.
The Commissioner for Declarations course fee was $300, Justice of the Peace $380. This included 12-month membership of the association, and a copy of learning materials on USB.
Course fees do not include application fees payable to the department for appointment.
