Queensland Fire and Emergency Services has issued a fire ban for Redland City Council and North Stradbroke Island government areas.

The ban will be in place from 11.59pm on Wednesday, October 23 to 12.01am on Monday, October 28 due to heightened fire conditions.
Queensland Fire and Emergency Services said in a statement that all permits to light fire issued in the designated areas had be cancelled.
"Power tools may be used during a local fire ban however QFES encourages people to use these with extreme care and ensure adequate equipment is available to extinguish any fire which may start," QFES said.
"This may include having a person available to watch out for any ignitions that occur."
Information on fire bans and the exemptions that can apply can be found on the RFS website ruralfire.qld.gov.au.
