THE Southern Moreton Bay Islands Chamber of Commerce has re-branded and is ready to advocate for small businesses on the islands.
Earlier this month, the Chamber launched its new website and Facebook page, complete with a new logo.
Acting president Chris McGregor - principal of Bay Islands Property - said the re-brand aimed to attract new members.
He said the Chamber of Commerce would be doing more to support the needs of the islands' business community.
"Our membership has doubled just in the last week with the launch of our new website and Facebook page," he said.
"In the last 12 months we have had 10 members (and) that has now doubled to 20. My goal for the (annual general meeting in late November) is 50.
"We are in a new growth phase of enlisting new business members, so we can become a united group of business when discussing matters with all levels of government."
Mr McGregor said there were about 250 small businesses on the four islands.
"There is a fresh wave of enthusiasm within our business community, with many businesses approaching (me) requesting to join the SMBI Chamber, to be part of the united front when raising important matters with Redlands council, as well as our state and federal MPs, ministers and senators which are affecting our business community," he said.
The AGM will be held on November 29 at the Russell Island Recreation Hall.
