The latest on the NSW and Queensland bushfires
NSW:
* Emergency warnings issued for 11 fires across NSW on Tuesday afternoon
* 80 fires burning, with about 30 out of control and eight at "watch and act" level
* Winds gusting up to 80km/h forecast from midday across NSW will exacerbate already hot, dry conditions
* Three people dead since Friday
* 100 people injured including 20 firefighters
* At least 150 homes destroyed with the figure expected to rise
* Catastrophic fire danger rating for the Greater Sydney, Hunter and Illawarra/Shoalhaven regions on Tuesday
* Extreme fire danger ratings - the second-highest - for the southern and central ranges and northwestern, northern slopes, New England and north coast regions
* Authorities warn embers can jump 20 to 30 kilometres in front of a raging fire
* 600 schools closed across NSW with a week-long state of emergency declared
* 3000 firefighters deployed or on standby and 80 aircraft at the ready
* Armed forces ready to help with search and rescue operations
* More than one million hectares have burnt or are burning this fire season - that's the same as the combined total for the past three seasons
QLD:
* 12 homes lost since late last week
* 55 fires burning but none at emergency level
* Most of Queensland faces high or very high fire danger in the days ahead but some pockets face greater risk
* The southeast including Brisbane, the Gold Coast and Sunshine Coast, face severe fire danger on Tuesday and Wednesday along with the drought-stricken Darling Downs and Granite Belt
* The Wide Bay and Burnett region also faces severe danger on Wednesday
* Current fires of concern include Cobraball near Yeppoon in central Queensland where 11 homes have been lost
* Other significant blazes are burning in the Gold Coast and Sunshine Coast hinterlands, and the Scenic Rim west of Brisbane
* The 12th home was at Cooroibah near Noosa
* Eight more homes have minor to moderate fire damage, five at Cobraball and three at Lower Beechmont in the Gold Coast hinterland
* Other structures including farm sheds lost and 11,000 hectares burnt in central Queensland
* State of fire emergency in force across 42 local government areas, total ban on outdoor fires and activities that can spark fires.
