THE festive season has come early this year, with the Mater Private Hospital Redland Auxiliary holding its annual Christmas market this Saturday.
The market will be packed with stalls selling jewellery, gifts, stocking fillers and flowers, with the Redland Rhapsody Chorus entertaining market-goers and helping them get into the Christmas spirit.
There will also be a sausage sizzle and tea, coffee and Christmas treats as well as a raffle.
Mater Private Hospital Redland Auxiliary spokeswoman Debra Marer said all funds raised would contribute to better patient and healthcare outcomes at the Mater Private Hospital Redland.
The group had been impressed by the turnout at last year's event, which had raised money for a cancer cooling cap for the hospital. The cap costs about $50,000 and helps cancer patients undergoing chemotherapy to keep their hair.
The market comes after the hospital opened a dedicated oncology unit in May.
The market will be held at the Redland Performing Arts Centre on Saturday, November 16 from 10am to 2pm. Admission is free.
