A CAPALABA bus company has its support for men's health awareness on the front of its fleet again this month, and it hopes the visual message will spark some conversations about the cause.
Transdev Queensland has stuck moustaches on the front of its fleet, and the drivers and staff are getting behind the Movember campaign by growing their own.
Movember aims to start a conversation about men's health, and raise funds for prostate cancer, testicular cancer, mental health and suicide prevention.
It is the second year the company has supported the cause. In 2018, 50 of its vehicles had moustaches.
"The response last year was very positive," Mark McKenzie, Transdev's head of business operations, said.
"It is entertaining to see the moustaches on the front of buses but our purpose goes beyond that entertainment factor. We hope these mos will be a fun way to start vital conversations about men's health.
"Seeing them should be a reminder that many men die of preventable causes and it is up to everyone to change the culture and support a proactive approach to men's health."
Mr McKenzie said it was hoped it wouldn't just affect the staff at the company.
"We want this message to not only permeate the behaviours of the staff we employ at Capalaba, but all of our customers and community," he said.
"Movember is about saving lives and this is something that Transdev backs wholeheartedly."
The company is undertaking health checks and mental health coaching for its 150 staff, maintenance team and drivers.
