A BEER and wine garden, handmade goods from local creators and entertainment for the whole family will be on offer at the Anglican Parish of Waterloo Bay's second annual twilight markets.
The Twilight Advent Carols and Craft Festival will be held on November 30 and is set to showcase Redlands community members and businesses.
"There are many people hurting in this world and our aim is to provide an afternoon of free entertainment and fun in the tranquil setting of a historic 100-plus year old church," parish council member Aline Stinton said.
"It will provide a place for people to gather, build connections and relax in the build up to the hectic Christmas season."
More than 35 stallholders will sell handmade goods. Among them is Pat Rainbow from Fresh Fields Quilting, who will demonstrate the work she is doing for Project Linus.
Since 2000, Project Linus has donated 20,000 handmade quilts to children in hospital with life-threatening illnesses, those in special need schools with sight, hearing, speech or mobility difficulties, children in foster care, people in women's refuges and the frail and elderly.
"It is such a worthy project and our event will promote the wonderful work undertaken by Pat and her friends," Ms Stinton said.
"There will be festive food and craft activities for the children.
"We have only accepted artisans who produce local handmade goods to limit our carbon footprint and promote the many talented artists and small businesses we have in the Redlands."
Market-goers will be entertained by Puppetrix, the Dukes of Uke and the Redland City Choir. Four groups of local musicians will entertain during intervals and in the market's Candy Cane Lane.
Santa will visit at 7pm.
Ms Stinton said the community had come together to support the event, with Girl Guides delivering brochures and the Rotary Club helping to set up and marshalling stallholders.
The markets will be held on November 30, from 4pm to 8pm at St James' Church on Station Street, Wellington Point. Entry is free.
