REDLANDS' future athletics stars have received a boost to buy new equipment.
The Redlands Little Athletics Club was given $2500 from Coles, with the money raised through the sale of community chiller bags.
Redlands Little Athletics Centre manager Rodney Clarke said the money would go towards electronic equipment for the volunteers.
"With the Coles grant, we will be able to buy new two-way radios which will enable our volunteers to run our meets more effectively and efficiently," he said.
"The equipment will greatly improve our volunteer experiences and confidence to communicate with our athletes."
The Redlands centre is one of 316 across Australia which share in more than $1 million in sports equipment grants from Coles.
For every bag sold, 25 cents is directed to the Coles Little Athletics Community fund to provide sports equipment grants.
"Overall, Coles has donated more than $200,000 across Queensland in the past 12 months to help kids lead happier, healthier lives," state manager Jerry Farrell said.
