IF you are feeling hungry and you are in Capalaba on Sunday, you can have a sausage sandwich and support the heroes at the firefront.
Wellington Point Rotary Club will donate all the money raised from the Bunnings barbecue at Capalaba to Rural Fire Service Queensland.
Club members will cook snags from 7am-4pm. They will cost $2.50, and soft drinks are $1.50.
Rotarian Terry Ryan said his club aimed to raise between $2000 and $3000 on the day.
He urged hungry Bunnings visitors to donate to the cause.
"It [the fire crisis] is in your face as we speak," he said.
"And, as we all know, in Australia, when disaster strikes, the country pulls together.
"It's a great country when we have a disaster. Unfortunately, we have to have a disaster sometimes to realise how good we are."
He hoped to get firemen, first responders and police to appear at the fundraiser, under lights and sirens.
"People will be attracted to it," he said.
Mr Ryan praised Coles Capalaba for donating sausages, bread and soft drink for the barbecue.
He said it was now up to the public to get involved.
"People will dig a bit deeper. They will come and have a snag," he said.
