REDLANDS seniors were among more than 37,000 Queensland students from the class of 2019 to walk out of the school gates for the last time today.
Education Minister Grace Grace congratulated graduates for all they had achieved.
"Today our senior students mark the end of their formal schooling and the beginning of an exciting new chapter in their lives," she said.
"I'd like to wish all students the best for life after school in whatever field of work, training or study they choose.
"I'm sure all students are feeling a mixture of emotions today as they say goodbye to their teachers and classmates.
"It's also the end of an era for our class of 2019 who were the original half-cohort of Preppies back in 2007.
"For the first time in 2020, we will have six full secondary year levels in our state high schools.
"The graduating year 12s are also the last ones to receive an OP, with the introduction of ATAR in 2020.
"Today's milestone is also a shared one for all the families and carers who have been instrumental in supporting our Year 12 graduates and they, too, deserve a huge thank you."
Redlands high schools were invited to contribute photos from their graduation ceremonies to include in the Redland City Bulletin photo gallery. More images will be added to the gallery as they are sent in.
