
Whiting catches are excellent - top spots include Budds Beach to the Monaco St Bridge in the Nerang River and the mouth of creeks feeding the Broadwater.
At Jumpinpin there were good catches on the channel around the southern end of Russell Island, Jacobs Well Straight and Ageston Sands in the Logan River. There were also good catches in Tingalpa Creek, Wellington Point and Pumicestone Passage.
Mud crabs have been hard to find but there were a lot of sand crabs caught this week - reports came from the northern Broadwater, southern Bay, right through to Pumicestone Passage.
There's plenty of school mackerel in Moreton Bay. Top spots have been around the southern end of Moreton Island including the Shark Spit area, Four Beacons and the top end of the Rainbow Channel.
The Brisbane River continues to produce great catches; mulloway and threadfin are the main species anglers target and the prime time has been at night.
There are consistent catches of mangrove jack from estuaries for those targeting them by either trolling structure or fishing known snags. Mixed in with the jacks are a few estuary cod and trevally.
There has been chopper tailor on most beaches at sunrise and sunset and a few bigger fish to two kilo through the night.
Either side of the Pin Bar has been a consistent producer, as has Noosa North Shore south of Cut one and the beaches in northern NSW, in particular Pottsville and South Ballina Beach.
If the tailor aren't biting there are plague numbers of dart to keep you busy.
Offshore, dolphinfish were still in good numbers around the Wave Rider Buoy and FADs again this week.
Trolling has produced mainly bonito and mac tuna but also increasing numbers of Spanish mackerel around rocky headlands and reef areas. Those dropping baits on the bottom reported good numbers of snapper, pearl perch and trag.
No change the freshwater fishing with bass on the bite in all impoundments and a surprising number of yellowbelly caught as well.
