Four lifeguards from Point Lookout Surf Lifesaving Club have been honoured for their heroics in the water.
MJ Bates, Alex Langenbert, Logan Specht and Anna Prasek were recognised at Wednesday's Redland City Council meeting.
Alex, Anna and Logan resuscitated a man after pulling him from the water at Point Lookout on New Year's Day. MJ rescued two people from dangerous conditions at South Gorge last September.
The four were honoured at the Surf Lifesaving Queensland Awards of Excellence.
Mayor Karen Williams thanked them at Wednesday's council meeting.
"Our community relies heavily on the dedication and commitment of our lifeguards, lifesavers and the many volunteers who selfishly give their time and put themselves in danger," she said.
"They often go well above and beyond the call of duty to keep our community safe and protected.
"And we know they will be out in numbers again this holiday season. On behalf of the Redlands City Council and our Redlands Coast community, we wholeheartedly thank you."
