Marnus Labuschagne will stride to the crease at the Gabba tomorrow with a big score beckoning as the first Test enters its third day.
The Redlands batsman brought up another half century late on day two today, and is 55 not out overnight.
Labuschagne hit six boundaries in his 94-ball knock.
Optimal batting conditions on day three mean he will have a big chance to score plenty more runs.
He helped David Warner (151 not out) guide Australia to a strong position at stumps. The pair put on 90 for the second wicket to leave the Aussies at 1-312.
They lead Pakistan by 72 runs.
Earlier, Warner brought up his first Test century in two years, but Joe Burns agonisingly short of a ton. He was bowled around his legs by Yasir Shah for 97.
