Treacherous conditions were not enough to stop Santa from dropping in to the Raby Bay Foreshore Park Beach on Sunday.
Strong winds and two metre waves granted the big man in red, who arrived on a Marine Rescue boat with an elf helper and two Marine Rescue crew in tow.
He threw lollies to eager children greeting him at the Five Streets Christmas picnic party.
The winds were strong on-shore too, and so Santa and Elf lost some of their costumes, but persisted in helping children get their lollies and allowing photographs.
The Five Streets Christmas Picnic neighbourhood party-goers from Anchorage, Voyagers, Captains, Binnacle and Winch Streets looked on in admiration and amusement.
They had come with chairs, drinks and plates to share but ended up buying lots of Rotary's sausages. The proceeds went to the drought appeal.
