The Business and Retail Awards finalists are judged by qualified and independent experts who are located outside the Redlands region.
Retail category finalists are mystery shopped by BT Marketing who assess each finalist across a number of criteria. The scores achieved determine the winner.
BT Marketing are also available to each of the finalists to provide feedback on their performance, which is valuable market research.
Business category finalists are interviewed face-to-face by one of the volunteer judges.
The Judges take the opportunity to delve deeper into the strategic direction of the business and engage with the interviewee providing valuable business coaching advice in the process.
Customer Service Excellence Recognised
Bayside Bait and Tackle scored a hat trick in their first year winning Best General Retailer Small as well as Customer Service Excellence.
Owner Scott Bennett also received recognition from both his customers and the Mystery Shopper.
The Excellence in Customer Service award is a hotly contested and prestigious category of the Redland Business and Retail Awards.
Keeping with tradition, MP Andrew Laming donated the prize for the winner, a fantastic one night get-away to Mantra Resort, Mooloolaba.
