A 33-UNIT waterfront development in the Weinam Creek Priority Development Area at Redland Bay has been approved.
The development at 6-12 Auster Street will include six villas and 27 two, three and four bedroom units.
The 3500 square metre north-facing site is on the eastern side of the Weinam Creek PDA and borders the creek.
At its tallest, the development will have four storeys above the ground, as well as a basement level. It will include 73 car parks and a common area.
The development also includes tidal works, earthworks and removal of significant vegetation, including mangroves.
At present there is a house and boat storage facility on the land.
The Toondah Harbour and Weinam Creek Local Representative Committee - which includes council and Economic Development Queensland representatives - gave the application the stamp of approval earlier this month.
Before starting work on the site the developers must submit plans for managing potential issues during construction, including noise and dust, oil and grease runoff, water turbidity from tidal works and traffic.
The approval came after work began on the Moores Road carpark in October. It is expected to be finished by April 2020.
The PDA covers 36 hectares of land and nearly six hectares over water.
It will include mixed use and medium density residential development and retail and commercial facilities, including cafes and restaurants.
