CHOPPER: A helicopter took a man in his 50s to hospital after a body boarding accident.
A MAN has been taken to hospital by a rescue helicopter after he was injured while body boarding at Amity on Monday morning.
An ambulance spokeswoman said the man in his 50s had been treated with spinal precautions after the incident was reported to paramedics at 10.14am.
He was taken to Princess Alexandra Hospital in a stable condition.
The island has been reportedly packed with visitors, with temperatures tipped to peak in the low 30s every day this week.
