POLICE are investigating after a man armed with a rifle robbed Cleveland Tavern on Wednesday night.
At about 10.15pm on January 8, a man entered the gaming area of the Shore Street tavern and approached the bar.
The man threatened a 46-year-old female staff member with a rifle, demanding money from the cash register.
The staff member complied and a sum of cash was put into a bag.
The man left the tavern in a white car which was parked in the tavern's carpark.
The man was wearing a full body dark coloured zoot suit, black gloves, white sneakers and a white face mask. He is about 175 centimetres tall with a medium build.
About five people were at the tavern at the time. No one was physically injured.
Anyone who witnessed the incident, has dash cam footage or has any information is urged to contact police.
