Female actors are being sought to perform in Vagina Monologues, presented by Mates Theatre Genesis at the Birkdale School of Arts hall on February 14 and 15. The show supports Redlands Centre for Women.

The Vagina Monologues was premiered in New York in 1996 and explores women's experiences. Written by Eve Ensler, it has become an international annual fundraising event celebrating and supporting women of all backgrounds and ages. New monologues and readings are presented each year providing insight into what it is to be a woman.

No experience is needed for the play and instruction will be given on vocal skills and techniques to gain confidence while enjoying the creative process.

An information session is being held on January 16 with rehearsals and workshops on January 23 and 30 and Feburary 6 and 13. Performances are at 7.30pm on February 14 and 15 with a matinee at 2pm on February 15.

Participants will be required to become financial members of Mates Theatre Genesis Inc. Membership fee is $20. More on auditions@matestg.org.au
