THE Weather Bureau has issued an updated severe thunderstorm warning for the Redlands.
Earlier thunderstorms detected near Brisbane are no longer affecting the region but very dangerous storms that swept through Beaudesert are tracking north towards the coast.
The thunderstorms are considered an immediate threat for the Redlands.

THE Weather Bureau expects severe thunderstorms detected near Redbank Plains to sweep through Cleveland, Mount Cotton, Victoria Point and Ormiston by 5:20 pm.
Other severe thunderstorms near Beaudesert and Caloundra are considered to be very dangerous.
A warning is still out for damaging, locally destructive winds, heavy rainfall that may lead to flash flooding and large hailstones.

SEVERE thunderstorms detected on the radar are expected to hit Cleveland by 5pm.

Queensland Fire and Emergency Services advises people to move their car undercover, secure loose outdoor items and seek shelter indoors.

IT is time to put the car undercover.
The Weather Bureau has issued a weather warning for the Redlands after severe thunderstorms were detected on the radar near Samford.
They are moving in an easterly direction and are expected to hit Brisbane CBD by 4.20pm.
Damaging winds, heavy rainfall that may lead to flash flooding and large hailstones are likely.
The thunderstorms are classified as an immediate threat for the Redlands.

THE Redlands is a chance of copping another thunderstorm just hours after heavy rain and strong winds smashed the south-east on Monday afternoon.
The monthly rainfall total has climbed to 253.4 millimetres, with the Weather Bureau confirming 23.2 millimetres fell in 30 minutes yesterday when an intense cell hovered over the Redlands.
A severe weather warning for damaging winds, heavy rainfall and large hailstones was issued just after 4pm as a line of thunderstorms made their way to the south-east.
By the time the storm disappeared off the coast about 6pm it had dumped 31.2 millimetres on the Redlands in just over an hour.
Flash flooding was reported in some areas while tree branches and other debris were blown onto roads when wind gusts intensified during the storm.
A lightning strike also hit a Thornlands house at about 5.30pm, causing damage to the two-story brick home.
The Weather Bureau is warning more wild weather could be on the way this afternoon and evening, with the Redlands a 70 per cent chance of receiving between three and 15 millimetres.
A forecast has warned that severe thunderstorms are possible right up until midnight.
The radar was all clear at midday as temperatures reached 30 degrees and humidity 73 per cent but the Weather Bureau is urging people to keep their eyes peeled in case a severe storm makes its way to the coast.
