BAYSIDE detectives have charged a 25-year-old Hamilton man after the alleged armed robbery of Cleveland Tavern earlier this month.
About 10.15pm on Wednesday, January 8, a man allegedly entered the tavern and approached the gaming area bar with a rifle.
The man demanded money from a female staff member and left with a sum of cash.
On Monday, January 13, police arrested the Hamilton man on charges including armed robbery, unlawful possession of category A weapons, driving an uninsured car, possessing stolen property, entering premises with intent to commit indictable offence, possessing utensils or pipes and possessing property suspected of having been used in connection with the commission of a drug offence.
He has been remanded in custody and is set to reappear in the Cleveland Magistrates Court on March 12.
