TWO Redlands sisters Tash and Monique Finch will vie for the title of Australia's Greatest Pet Stylist in the grooming show Pooch Perfect on Channel 7.
Watch the fur fly when the pet groomers from Victoria Point and Wellington Point take on nine other couples as they shampoo, snip and style their four-legged friends on the new Channel 7 show.
Hosted by Hollywood actress Rebel Wilson, Pooch Perfect features 10 professional pet stylists competing in a series of themed challenges revealing epic transformations of adored family pets. Based on the creative brief, the stylists design and style their assigned pet before hitting the dog walk to reveal the pet's new look for the judges, styling experts Amber Lewin and Colin Taylor. One lucky pair will take home $100,000 in prize money.
Monique, 29 started out as a hairdresser but realised she was allergic to hair colour. "I randomly applied for a grooming traineeship and now I've been grooming for 13 years," she said. In her late teens, Tash would help Monique in her dog salon during the holidays. She went on to run the salon when Monique left to have her daughter.
With a diverse skill set between them, the pair are real contenders in the competition, and both adore dogs. "I love my poodle Snow because every time I walk in the door she's as happy to see me as I am to see her," Monique said.
Tash, 26 has two kerry blue terriers, Buggy and Sia and said they were both loving, outgoing, tough and cheeky. She said she enjoyed styling Jack Russell's as they were sassy and super cute.
Monique admitted the hardest part of pet grooming was meeting the expectations of the owners and when family pets died.
"If I won the prize money I'd set myself up and help Tash out. I'm dedicated and have a true love for what I do," she said.
