A KIND gesture by a regular patron at a Cleveland cafe has strengthened the faith of the Redlands community.
Owner of One Stop Cafe in Cleveland Colleen Welsh said a customer came into the cafe on Saturday and bought one hundred $5 vouchers.
"She wanted to remain anonymous but it started as payback for the supermarket workers in Woolworths and Coles as they were working so hard. She wanted to give something back to them and support the cafe," said Ms Welsh.
Ms Welsh handed out the vouchers to staff at the supermarkets as well as customers in the cafe. She also gave a few to customers working at Cleveland businesses.
"It then went beyond and better, other customers paid it forward and did the same," she said.
The cafe has been open for five years and Ms Welsh said times were tough for everybody.
"This has shown me there are beautiful people in the Redlands," she said.
Ms Welsh thanked the community and the anonymous donor for the support and for helping not only her, but her staff.
