CAPALABA'S major shopping centres remain open and have beefed up their cleaning programs despite many shopping districts resembling ghost towns due to coronavirus.
Capalaba Park and Central shopping centres have introduced social distancing signage, sanitising stations and regular cleans to help prevent the spread of COVID-19.
Restrictions on the number of people allowed in a store at one time has also been adopted at Capalaba Central, with customers now encouraged to plan their shop in advance.

Centre manager Kristy Pascoe said anti-social behaviour towards retailers would not be tolerated.
"We all need to look at our consumer behaviour and consider how we might change our habits to ensure the future safety and well-being of our entire Redlands community," she said.
"Your shopping should now be a purposeful visit with a clear shopping goal. A tip would be to use a shopping list and shop without an entourage of people.
"Restrictions on the amount of customers within stores due to social distancing regulations is now occurring.
"We have had reports of some negative customer behaviour towards our retailers since these introductions and this will not be tolerated."
A Capalaba Park spokesman said major retailers Woolworths, Coles, Kmart and Target were still open and trading.
"Shoppers can have confidence with Capalaba Park as we continue to be vigilant with our cleaning program.
"We are encouraging customers to use the sanitiser stations positioned throughout the centre and promoting social distancing and hygiene with signage."
The spokesman said management were working with smaller retailers so all stores could resume normal trading after the crisis.
Ms Pascoe said retailers at Capalaba Central had tailored their operations to suit the government's restrictions on gatherings by starting home deliveries, increasing social media presence and introducing cashless transactions
