The coronovirus pandemic has necessitated innovation. It has turned the Pub Choir movement into the Couch Choir.
Pub Choir, started in Brisbane in 2017 by music teacher and event director Astrid Jorgensen, has grown into a social event which brings together people in cities and towns across the nation.
COVID-19 put an end to monthly singalongs in pubs. No longer could strangers learn three-part harmonies in one place.
Instead videos of the low, medium and high harmonies were shared and singers recorded themselves singing at home.
"Over 6000 strangers from 45 countries submitted a video in three days to sing one song. It's dedicated to all the frontline heroes who are keeping us safe," Ms Jorgensen said.
The song? The entirely appropriate Heroes, by David Bowie.
