POLICE are probing how a fire broke out in a 4.2 metre boat in the front yard of a home at Alexandra Hills.
The fire spread, destroying a carport, and a Holden Equinox parked there.
A man was asleep in the boat at the Kenton Street house when the blaze broke out.
Paramedics attended at 5.11am and took a man in his 50s to Redlands Hospital in a stable condition where he was treated for smoke inhalation.
Police said the fire started about 5am on Easter Sunday.
They are seeking witnesses to any events in the street about that time.
The 42-year-old man who was asleep in the boat's cabin, escaped uninjured.
Police are appealing to anyone who may have seen anything suspicious between 4am and 5.30am to come forward.
Ambulance staff also took a male patient in a stable condition with a head injury to Redlands Hospital after a car ploughed into a parked vehicle on Wimborne Road, Alexandra Hills, at 6.36pm last night.
