A CAPALABA teen will finally face the long arm of the law after police caught him driving dangerously on roads, parks and on nature trails.
Thanks to the help over the last few months of concerned locals living in the Alexandra Hills and Capalaba areas, police identified and located the persistent trail bike hoon and charged him.
The 17-year-old was charged with numerous offences including unlicensed driving, driving a vehicle in an unsafe condition and failing to wear a helmet.
Illegal trail bike use has plagued the Scribbly Gums Conservation Reserve and areas in Capalaba for years. Motorbikes are a potential hazard to people using the trails including walkers, runners and cyclists.
Fines for unlawful use of motorcycles in reserves can range up to a maximum of $6,095 if prosecuted - or $609.00 for an infringement notice, while illegal and unregistered motorcycle use on public roads carry a range of police enforced penalties.
The boy will be dealt with according to the provisions of the Youth Justice Act.
