A REDLANDS artist has come into the spotlight with her brightly-coloured flamingo painting featuring in a House Rules episode this month.
Tina Dinte said she was contacted several months ago and told a contestant on the home renovation television show wanted to buy a piece of her artwork.
"I, of course, acted cool, calm and collected whilst discussing the sale but on the inside I was screaming," Ms Dinte said.
"Having a piece of art on a TV show is such a huge honor for any artist."
The piece in question - titled Lady Florence Flamingo - was created using Ms Dinte's signature colourful, intricate style.
It caught the eye of New South Wales duo Laith and George, who were tasked with renovating a Gold Coast penthouse.
Ms Dinte said she was in the car after going grocery shopping when she got a call telling her couriers were coming to collect the painting in two hours.
"After a mad packaging session ... Lady Florence Flamingo was speeding down the M1 to be delivered to Laith and George," she said.
The artwork made its television debut last week in a prime position in the penthouse's bar area.
"Lady Florence looked amazing," Ms Dinte said.
"She certainly added a wow factor in the room and you couldn't miss her."
She described the piece as cheeky and unconventional.
"Her feathers are full of luscious colours including pinks, golds, bronze, aquas, orange, peach plus a rainbow of other shades.
"Florence is full of energy and there is no holding her back."
