REDLANDS schools have found creative ways of helping their students commemorate Anzac Day despite COVID-19 putting ceremonies on hold.
Sheldon College hosted a small socially distanced ANZAC ceremony which was live streamed directly into the classrooms, offices and homes of staff, students and families.
School captains, bugler, soloist and a few staff were the only ones attending the service in person, but many others watched from afar.
Sheldon College performance and instigator of the Music for Mateship initiative Alastair Tomkins played a rendition of the Last Post and Reveille, while the national anthem was performed solemnly by classical tenor and former student Iain Henderson.
Images of Sheldon College family members were displayed behind the emcees on a wall of remembrance.
Meanwhile, Cleveland District State High School staff and students produced an eight minute Anzac ceremony video so students could take part with their families at home.
It featured a short history of the Anzacs and readings of the Ode and In Flanders Fields, as well as the Last Post and Reveille performed by year 10 student Ethan Bloomer.
Students and staff from Victoria Point State High School also paid their respects to those who lost their lives on the battlefield.
School leaders George McGuiness and Keely Pressick visited the Redland Bay Cemetery with staff member Lyndy Knott and Redlands RSL Vice President Ian Gray to lay flags in honour of the fallen.
