CHILDREN have given heartfelt thanks to their mums for their love and support on Mother's Day.
Redland City Bulletin readers were invited to share photos and stories of their mums.
Candace Hooker said her mum was always there for her, even now she had children of her own.
"I love my mum because no matter how old I am and have four kids of my own she knows when I need her love and support," she said.
Sophia Papp shared her own message of love, written from the perspective of her one-year-old daughter Natalie.
"I believe in love at first sight because I love my mum since I opened my eyes," she wrote.
"She (has) given me two things - roots and wings to learn to fly.
"Doesn't matter how old I am, she is a shoulder to cry on, warm hearts and hands that really care.
"Mum is the heartbeat in the home and I am her real sphere of love. My gift to her first Mother's Day is to call her my mum."
Sam Hutchinson said his mum was his best friend and was someone he could always count on.
"She is selfless and does anything for anyone," he said.
"I'm so proud of who she is and to call her my mum."
Soprano Leah Lever paid tribute to her mother and mums across the Redlands in an original song, Never Far From You, written as a message of comfort for those who are missing a loved one.
Mums and their families each celebrated in their own special way.
Some families visited a park or beach for a picnic, while other mums enjoyed breakfast in bed.
Some took advantage of COVID-19 relaxations, which allowed up to five people who lived together to visit another household.
It was welcome news for families across the state, who relished the opportunity to spend time with their loved ones.
