DETECTIVES have released footage of masked thieves who smashed through the doors of a Birkdale supermarket last month.
Around 2.40am on Saturday April 4, a stolen ute was reversed into the glass front doors of the Birkdale Road IGA, causing extensive damage.
Two people in masks jumped out of the vehicle, one armed with a crowbar, and stole property including a large quantity of cigarettes, before leaving in the ute.
The utility, a white 2006 Nissan Navara with silver tray-back and displaying stolen registration plates, was stolen from Slacks Creek on April 1 and located burnt out at Rochedale on April 6.
Police are appealing for anyone who has any information about this offence to contact them.
It came after an incident in May last year which saw thieves attempt to ram raid the Mount Cotton IGA.
A stolen car was used to force entry through the doors. Three men went to go into the store but ran back to the cars when they realised that an employee was inside.
