MACLEAY Island police clamped down on traffic offences in May, issuing 10 infringement notices for various speeding and parking offences.
A 62-year-old woman was issued a notice to appear for driving an unregistered, uninsured vehicle and a fine for speeding on May 13. She is due to appear Cleveland Magistrates Court on July 6.
Police attended a traffic incident on Francis Street on May 21. A 22-year-old Macleay Island man was issued a notice to appear for allegedly driving whilst under the influence of liquor, possessing dangerous drugs and obstructing police. The man is due to appear at Cleveland Magistrates Court on July 20.
A 38-year-old man from Russell Island is due in Cleveland Magistrates Court on August 24 for alleged drug driving.
Property offences
Unknown offenders allegedly entered a locked shed and removed tools from an address in Elizabeth Court between March 7 and May 6.
Tools were also allegedly taken from a vehicle parked on Coffea Street between May 7 and May 9.
A local retail store located on Southsea Terrace reported property stolen on May 20 and May 31.
Drug offences
A 25-year-old Loganlea man will appear in Cleveland Magistrates Court for allegedly possessing dangerous drugs.
A 26-year-old Macleay Island man was issued a notice to appear on May 31 for allegedly possessing dangerous drugs and is due in Cleveland Magistrates Court on July 30.
Good Order Offence
A 36-year-old Southport man was issued an infringement notice for public nuisance and obstructing police for an incident which allegedly occurred on May 2 at Macleay Island.
Domestic violence
Macleay Island police have investigated seven domestic violence incidents in May.
