The mercury neared zero overnight in Jimboomba and Beaudesert last night as winter announced its presence in south-east Queensland.
The coldest temperature recorded at Beaudesert's weather station was 1.3 degrees, but the apparent temperature, which has wind chill and humidity factored in, was just 0.9.
By 9am, it had warmed up to 10 degrees.
It was a similar story at Greenbank's station, where the temperature dropped to 1.6 degrees, with an apparent temperature of 0.9, at 6am.
It was 12 degrees there at 9am.
It was warmer over in the Redlands. The coldest temperature Alexandra Hills recorded was 8.6 degrees at 6am.
The apparent temperature at that time was 4.9 degrees.
