"More NDIS participants are choosing to have their plans managed by professionals, which does not cost them anything if management is included in their plan," she said.
"We have established Disability Plan Services to help meet this demand and make the whole NDIS process much simpler for participants."
Ms Shaw started helping people with disability when husband David was diagnosed with motor neuron disease.
After recognising there was a need for more disability support services in the bayside area, she launched Tea-Cup Cottage at Capalaba to provide short term accommodation and in-home support.
Ms Shaw has opened a range of other services since and has racked up more than 10 years in the disability support sector.
"At Disability Plan Services, everyone in our team has a lived experience with disability ... and we are all passionate about making a positive difference in people's lives," she said.
"We build relationships with the local community, health professionals, service providers and most importantly our clients.
"Plan management is all about providing more choice and control to NDIS participants and allowing them to receive the supports they need to better understand their plan and make informed decisions about their life."
Plan-managed funding is one of three options NDIS participants can choose when joining the scheme.
When a participant requests plan management, the National Disability Insurance Agency will provide them with funding in their plan to pay for a plan manager.
