SHELDON College has been named Education Perfect's top language school in Queensland for the third year running after students put their Chinese language skills to the test in a national competition last month.
Students in years five to 12 devoted a combined 500 hours to Education Perfect's Language Championships over seven days in May.
They answered more than 268,000 questions between them to finish first in a field on 197 Queensland schools and fifth nationally.
Chinese teacher Clara Liu said she was delighted with the success achieved by her language students for the third year running.
"This year I have seen the greatest participation from students, especially from those in years five and six," she said.
"I was blown away by the student's dedication towards their Chinese learning and was deeply impressed by their ability to adapt to online learning for their Chinese studies during COVID-19."
A total of 34 students earned a certificate for their participation in the competition.
Maddison Sturgess, Samantha Seager, Amy Morante and Summer Peupelmann earned emerald awards, while Conor McCreath, Alexander Smith and Lucas Ross won gold.
