REDLANDS United have signed Brisbane Roar academy high performance manager Jordan Manning as first team coach for the remainder of the 2020 season.
Manning is an AFC qualified coach, holds a bachelor's degree in exercise and sports science and is currently completing his master's degree in coaching at the University of Queensland.
"I think the Club is heading in the right direction with people like Graham Harvey involved," Manning said.
"I'm very keen to be involved. I believe the squad has a lot of great potential and I'm looking forward to starting up and getting out on the pitch."
Club technical director Graham Harvey said he was thrilled with Manning's signing.
"He is a coach I have known a number of years and I think now is the right time for him to step up to be a head coach at senior level in the NPL," he said.
"Don't be fooled by his age as he has spent numerous years already learning the business of coaching with success at Western Pride and with the Roar youth teams."
Harvey said Manning was intelligent, organised and had a good knowledge of the game.
"He has already made some astute signings for the first team which will stand the club in good stead for the future and put some further structures in place off the field, to aid performance," he said.
"Appointing Jordan to this role shows a real statement from the club regarding our investment in youth development on and off the pitch."
Manning's appointment comes following the departure of Graham Ross.
Harvey said the club thanked Warren Moon and the Brisbane Roar for having the foresight to invest in one of their young coaches, whilst still continuing his progression through their club.
