For the help you need today....
During the COVID-19 crisis, the doors of the Redland Community Centre (RCC) have never closed and the team here have gone above and beyond to support the community during this time.
The Centre has been connecting with people via phone, text and social media to check-in and see how everyone is coping with homeschooling, school supplies, food security, financial support, wellness and in general just asking 'in what way can we help you today'.
"Not once have we closed the doors and not once have any of my team given less than 110 per cent in supporting our community over the last few weeks," said CEO Allison Wicks.
"The RCC Team is a front-line service; we have continued to support our most vulnerable people each and every day and will continue to do so for many more years to come.
"The Team has greeted our community face to face (behind COVID-19 screens, gloves, hand sanitizer and masks) as we are an essential service that provides food for families, housing to homeless, counselling, wellness, no-interest loans, financial counselling and financial support," said Allison.
The centre, with the help of Harvest City Church, has also been busy delivering food to the elderly, as well as distributing food donated by the Redlands Christian Reformed Church.
