RESIDENTS at Ormiston could be affected by noise and flashing lights with night works scheduled for the Cleveland line this week.
The upgrade works are set to be carried out near the Ormiston station from 9pm on Wednesday, July 1 until 5am the next day.
Works will involve loud, heavy machinery, including excavators and on-track vehicles with horns, bright flashing lights and reversing beepers.
"Every effort will be made to carry out these works with respect for our valued neighbours," a spokesperson said.
"We apologise for any inconvenience and thank you for your patience as we work to improve our network.
"Queensland Rail is committed to keeping essential rail services operating for Queenslanders during this challenging time and to do this, network maintenance and critical capital works must continue."
The spokesperson said the works would improve the safety and reliability of train services in the area.
