REDLANDS Coast Chamber of Commerce is looking to the future as the regional jobs committee announces a new initiative aimed at strengthening the local economy.
President Rebecca Young said the Championing Redlands Coast initiative would create a single narrative for the future of the city to attract investors, create jobs and improve lifestyles in the Redlands.
"Championing Redlands Coast we like to think of as the one source of truth for our city," she said.
"Through the work we had started with the regional jobs committee, we realised there are a lot of statistics, reports as well as the economic development framework that has been released by council.
"We realised there is not one narrative for our city. If an investor came along and wanted to invest in Redlands Coast, what does that look like?
"It is out intent through this initiative to bring a whole heap of data and research together and basically present it as one piece of research."

The first stage of the initiative would identify projects that were in the pipeline and look at how they could support new and expanding businesses.
"That way, if someone wants to invest in our coast they can see jobs potential, population growth potential and what is actually going to happen in the next 20 years of our city," Ms Young said.
"It is about aligning our key stakeholders ... fleshing out post-COVID jobs creation and what skilling is going to be needed for that job growth."
Ms Young said the chamber would engage with different industry sectors before finalising its vision for Redlands' future in August.
"We see this as a very industry-led piece of work," she said.
"At the moment it is creating a real buzz. For probably the first time ever the chamber is getting calls from big businesses saying we want in and we want to be a part of this narrative that you are creating."
The initiative comes hot on the heels of the Local as Queensland campaign, which aims to support the tourism and hospitality industries by encouraging people to take a holiday within Queensland.
The Redlands chamber has thrown its support behind the campaign and is encouraging people to visit the Redlands during the school holidays.
