THE Weather Bureau is forecasting a wet and cold weekend for the south-east, with showers a good chance across Logan, Redlands and the Scenic Rim.
There is also a high possibility of rain on Friday, with all three areas a 95 to 100 per cent chance of showers throughout the day.
Most of the action on Saturday will be in the Redlands, where up to 25mm is forecast.
The Weather Bureau is predicting less rain further inland, though there will be only a slight difference, with falls at Logan and Beaudesert set to top out at 20mm.
Thunderstorms are a chance throughout the weekend for both areas.
Rainfall totals are tipped to drop in the Redlands on Sunday, with 4 to 15mm expected.
Beaudesert is forecast to receive 5 to 20mm, while Logan can expect between 3 and 15mm.
Meteorologist Rosa Hoff said it could be the last spell of wet weather for a few weeks, with the start of August likely to be dry across the state.
Temperatures will remain in the mid to low teens for Redlands and Logan across the weekend but the mercury could drop as low as nine degrees at Beaudesert on Saturday.
Showers will give way to a mostly sunny day on Monday before cold weather hits on Wednesday.
Beaudesert can expect a low of 5 degrees, Logan 7 degrees and Redlands 9 degrees.
