RESIDENTS at Thorneside and Birkdale could be affected by noise with night works scheduled for the track between the two stations next week.
Works will take place on Wednesday August 5 from 9pm until 5am the following day.
The work involves unloading ballast and rail, hand tools, and loud, heavy machinery, including loaders, excavators and on-track vehicles with horns, bright flashing lights and reversing beepers.
"Every effort will be made to carry out these works with respect for our valued neighbours," a spokesperson said.
"We apologise for any inconvenience and thank you for your patience as we work to improve our network.
"Queensland Rail is committed to keeping essential rail services operating for Queenslanders during this challenging time and to do this, network maintenance and critical capital works must continue."
