"You've just got to give it a go."
This was the advice from Lance Towns, who launched his new catering company out of a modified army Unimog at Capalaba on Friday.
While COVID-19 has had a negative impact for many businesses, Mr Towns said it would give him a chance to fine-tune his operation.
"It might not be great time to be starting a new business, but you can't just sit there and do nothing," he said.
"Get out and just do what you can now.
"I'd rather have a rough start now, while it is a bit slower."

After last week's initial test run, Mr Towns planned to have a pop-up once a week, helping to support local businesses.
"It's a 4WD so that means it can go pretty much anywhere - Fraser, Straddie, Double Island, out bush.
"That's going to be the fun places other food caterers aren't able to get to."
He said response from customers who had came in for lunch and dinner on Friday had been positive.
The truck drew plenty of attention from passers-by and workers on Smith Street.
"I just love cooking and watching someone eat my food and seeing the pleasure in their face," he said.
