RPAC Live continues on August 15 with performances by Madeleine McCaw (Hello Jane), Clare Cowley of Planet Clare and Mama Juju and the Jam Tarts.
McCaw is a singer song writer who presents a classic blend of folk storytelling, pop melody and soul. She has performed at Redfest and brings a full band to the stage.
Cowley combines sound and vision in a blues and satellite soul sound, blending cabaret and country favourites.
Mama Juju offers a quirky, upbeat sound infused with jazz, blues, folk and rock.
Julie Minto (Mama Juju) said she too was excited to have the opportunity to play the band's original songs.
"It is great that it is being streamed online during these challenging times for those who can't get out and come to the actual concert. What a great initiative from Creative Alliance and RPAC," she said.
Flautist and vocalist Vicky Macdonald said she she was honoured to be part of RPAC's new and innovative platform.
"Music makes a difference in people's lives and contributes to their sense of well being. This is so important right now and it's wonderful and thrilling to be able to play our part. Plus we have been itching at the bit to play," she said.
The performance is the third of a four-part series featuring local artists on a local stage, as a means of opening the theatre and giving opportunities to local performers.
To date, concerts have been held with Josh Walker, Nix and the Barefoot Boyz on July 25 and Peppermint Ollie, Claiming It Anyway and Georgie Taylor on August 8. The final lineup will be on August 29.
The concert will be live streamed and there are limited seats for a small audience. These tickets are $10/$5 and can be booked on 3829 8131or at the booking office at 2-16 Middle Street, Cleveland.
