Redland based ukulele group The Flying Buskers has been nominated for the Royal Flying Doctors Service Local Heroes Award.
The group will be filmed on August 31 at the Cleveland Uniting Church hall where it will sing its own Flying Buskers song.
The group busks exclusively for the Royal Flying Doctors Service and the song tells the story of how the buskers got started.
Group founder Jane Milward said she was chuffed to be nominated.
"There are local hero awards in every region where there is an RFDS base. People are nominated and interviewed etc then voted on. There is a winner for each area," Ms Milward said.
Ms Milward said it would be interesting to see how the filming panned out, given there would be 12 members all socially distanced.
Ms Milward started busking with her ukulele in 2015, seeking the support of the Royal Flying Doctors Service and putting out her hat to raise funds. She is now an accredited fund raiser.
In creating the Flying Busker(s), Ms Milward combines her passion for playing ukulele with doing trips out west.
