The Bureau of Meteorology is forecasting more damaging winds to sweep the state, while some Melbourne residents are still dealing with the impacts of Thursday's storm.
BOM has forecast that strong north to northwesterly winds will develop early Sunday ahead of a front that will move across the state during the day.
Winds could average 60 to 70km/h with peak gusts around 100km/h.
The wild weather prediction follows a severe storm on Thursday that caused three deaths from falling trees, mass power outages, concerns about water contamination and widespread building damage.
The areas most affected were Mount Evelyn, Croydon, Belgrave, The Basin and Ferntree Gully, all in Melbourne's outer east.
About 100 suburbs across the outer north and east of the city are still advised by Yarra Valley Water to boil their water before drinking.
The water supplier said it is working with the Department of Health and Human Services and Melbourne Water to resolve the issue.
Some areas cannot even boil water because they still don't have power, so emergency drinking water is being offered at locations in North Croydon and Mount Evelyn. Residents have to bring their own containers to fill up from tankers.
The State Emergency Service received more than 3200 calls for help from the Thursday storm and was still cleaning up on Saturday.
The SES is urged Victorians to be mindful of potential further tree falls on Sunday.
"Loose branches that may have been dislodged on Thursday may come down with further strong winds, whilst wet ground with weakened trees only increases the risk," a statement said.
"The safest place to be during a storm is indoors."
People are advised to check that outdoor settings, umbrellas and trampolines are safely secured and to move vehicles under cover or away from trees.
Those still affected by outages and lack of water from Thursday's storm are exempt from coronavirus restrictions to travel to a friend or family member's house.
