The windy weather over this past week was not conducive to fishing, but those anglers who managed to fish the windows of opportunity were rewarded with some really good fish.
Once again snapper and mulloway were the species on the chew in Moreton Bay.
Dan D'Arcy and Andrew Parker both smashed their personal best for mulloway fishing on the local artificial reef system.
It's a prime time to target mulloway by fishing both the artificial reefs and deeper areas in Moreton Bay.
Whole squid or soft plastic vibes and the Zerek Fish Traps have been the go to use as bait for catching these nice fish.

With better weather forecast by the Weather Bureau for next week anglers will not be disappointed by heading out further off shore.
The charter boats report good catches of cod, amberjacks, yellow tail king fish, dolphin fish and a number of tuna species.
Squire can be found on the shallows round the bay islands, mullet fillets and pilchards are the bait of choice for these fish.
Quality snapper of 80cm plus can be caught on the off shore reefs.
Moreton Bay's northern reefs are fishing well with a variety of species with a few big kingfish spicing up the action.
Flathead numbers are increasing. The bigger breeding females will be around the Jumpinpin, Pandannus Island, and anywhere where there are weed and mud banks.
Summer whiting and bream are also feeding round the pin area. Live blood worms are the pick of the baits.
You can also mix it up with lures as well as drift fishing with live bait and small pilchards.
Some large tiger squid are hanging around the local jetties.
The most successful squid fisherman have been using small glow sticks above their squid jigs.
Tiger squid are very cautious and need to be fished with finesse. Slow movements of the squid jig will get their interest.
Make sure they have hold of your jig before setting the barbs because if they feel the prick of the barb and you have not made a good connection they will not be easily be deceived a second time round and in most cases will swim off.
